Community Development Officer (London)

Salary: £24,135 (National Joint Council pay spine 22)

Contract: Fixed term to 31st October 2019, with possibility of renewal

We’re looking for an individual who wants to make a difference. As Community Development Officer, you will make full use of your interpersonal skills and ecological knowledge to lead on the coordination and day to day planning of a community cohesion project focused in Mile End (Shandy Park) and Aldgate East (Swedenborg Gardens) as part of London Borough of Tower Hamlets Community Cohesion Pilot Programme. We’re looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills: to encourage, support and facilitate the participation of residents and others in the design, delivery and management of this innovative project.

This role will drive the development and delivery of this project to enable people to meet others who share an interest in nature, both face to face and through activities, and to allow people to deepen their contact with nature in their local areas.

The role will also take an active lead in organising, leading and implementing events within Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, and assist external event leaders.

We understand that the role of Community Development Project Officer could be demanding, with a very varied workload, but we’re looking for an individual who likes a challenge and is looking to be part of a motivated team that works closely together to fulfil the vision of the charity.
